Wearing it cross body is awkward when full and doesn’t really relieve the discomfort. From there, it feels really heavy on my one shoulder and it hard to relieve the shoulder and back pain I start to feel even after walking two city blocks. The pack feels like it bulges when full and makes it awkward to carry. My final two gripes are not specific to the Pakt, but are features of messenger style bags and duffels that I noticed using this bag. Those two reasons kept me from giving it 5 stars. Similarly the shoulder pad feels both thin and liable to moving. So it may be set very tight but as I’m walking around I feel the bag drop lower.
The next gripe is that the shoulder strap will slide considerably. Especially useful when I’m flying with my wife who uses an Away suitcase. I wish there was a pass through for roller boards. I also like the color selections (I have pewter) and think they make the bag look professional. The design is very useable, the clamshell makes packing a cinch, and there are enough pockets to be efficient, but not overwhelming. That is a game changer and removes all the luggage-related stress out of flying. The absolute best part of the bag is that it fits comfortably under the seat in front of you on an airplane. In short, it’s an excellent modern weekender bag for everything from an overnight trip to a week in Europe. I’ve had this bag for two years and have used it a ton, so I thought it high time I left a review.
